OZiHOMESTAY TERMS & CONDITIONS
DURATION OF HOMESTAY
1. A minimum period of 4 weeks is usually required for new placement.
2. STUDENT needs to seek permission from OZiHOUSE in writing if the student wishes to apply for a placement for less than 4 weeks.
3. OZiHOUSE holds the right to accept or refuse any applications for homestay for a less than 4 weeks.
POINT OF CONTACT FOR HOMESTAY INQUIRY
1. All critical information with regards to homestay of STUDENT must be communicated to OZiHOUSE homestay coordinator. Such information includes but not limited to the conflict between a student and host, a change in visa condition of a student, a request to change homestay and notification to leave the homestay.

HOMESTAY ADMISSIONS
1. Online submission of application is required. The online application form can be accessed from the link below

2. All homestay applications must be submitted at least 4 weeks before students homestay placement begins.
3. OZiHOUSE does not guarantee homestay placement for late applications.
4. If a suitable homestay cannot be found before check in date, the student can stay at OZiHOUSE student accommodation at the discounted weekly rate.
5. All the necessary information should be provided by STUDENT before OZiHOUSE looks for a suitable homestay for a student. The information includes, name, gender, nationality, dietary requirements, and flight details of the applicants. OZiHOUSE will not start the homestay placement process unless all the required information is provided.
POST ARRIVAL CHANGES
If a student is unhappy with their chosen homestay family, he/she or STUDENT should contact OZiHOUSE homestay coordinator at [email protected] to discuss the matter. OZiHOUSE homestay coordinator will mediate between the student and his or her host to try to rectify any concerns including assisting through the ‘settling in’ period.
1. If a student wishes to change homestay families after the first 4 weeks, and there are not adequate grounds for the change, the student may be charged another placement fee for OZiHOUSE to find a new homestay.
2. If the grounds for the request of a student to change homestay is deemed to be reasonable by OZiHOUSE, OZiHOUSE will not charge the additional placement fee to find a new homestay.
3. A student will be required to provide the minimum of two weeks’ written notice to OZiHOUSE homestay coordinator before moving out. Homestay weekly fees will need to be paid a minimum of 2 weeks in advance before the transfer date to cover the first payment to the new homestay family.
OZIHOMESTAY BOOKING CHANGES, CANCELLATIONS, AND CONTRACT TERMINATION POLICY
DURATION OF HOMESTAY
- Homestay placements are generally for a minimum of 4 weeks.
- If a student wants a placement for less than 4 weeks, they must request approval in writing from OZiHOUSE Group. A 30% short-term loading fee will apply.
- OZiHOUSE Group reserves the right to approve or decline requests for homestays shorter than 4 weeks.

- All important information about a student’s homestay must be communicated to the OZiHOUSE Group Homestay Coordinator. This includes issues such as conflicts between a student and host, changes to a student’s visa conditions, requests to change homestay, and notifications about leaving the homestay.

- All applications must be submitted at least 4 weeks before the student’s homestay placement begins.
- OZiHOUSE Group cannot guarantee homestay placement for late applications.
- If a suitable homestay cannot be arranged before the check-in date, the student can stay at OZiHOUSE Group student accommodation at a 5% discounted weekly rate.
- Students must provide all necessary information before OZiHOUSE Group begins the homestay placement process. This includes the student’s name, gender, nationality, dietary requirements, and flight details. OZiHOUSE Group will not start the placement process without all required information.
POST-ARRIVAL CHANGES
- If a student is unhappy with their homestay family, they should contact the OZiHOUSE Group Homestay Coordinator at [email protected] to discuss the issue. The Homestay Coordinator will mediate between the student and the host to address any concerns, including assisting during the ‘settling in’ period (first 4 weeks).
- If a student wants to change homestay families after the first 4 weeks and there are no valid reasons for the change, the student may be charged an additional placement fee for OZiHOUSE Group to arrange a new homestay. The student will also need to pay 2 weeks of homestay fees in advance to cover the new family’s initial payment.
- If OZiHOUSE Group determines that the student has valid reasons for requesting a change, the process will be completed as quickly as possible, and no additional placement fee will be charged for finding a new homestay.
- The following examples are common complaints that are not considered valid reasons for changing homestay: “The food doesn’t taste good.” • “The host won’t talk to me unless I initiate the conversation.” • “The host won’t show me around.” • “I don’t get along with the host.” • “The host wants me to wash dishes.” • “I don’t like my room.”
EXTENSION OF HOMESTAY PERIOD
- If a student wishes to extend their homestay period, please fill out the form in the link to register your details at least two weeks before the original check-out date: https://forms.gle/uo5vRVVe7Y12AskA7.
- Host families have the right to accept or refuse a request to extend the placement. If a host cannot accept the request, and the student provides a minimum of 2 weeks’ written notice to the OZiHOUSE Group Homestay Coordinator, OZiHOUSE Group will arrange a new host family. In this case, a new placement fee will apply. The student will also need to pay 2 weeks of homestay fees in advance to cover the new family’s initial payment.
HOMESTAY PAYMENT POLICY
- The placement fee, airport transfer fee (if applicable), and initial homestay fees (up to 4 weeks) must be paid upfront to OZiHOUSE Group before we can begin the placement process. Students requesting long-term homestay arrangements (12 weeks or more) must pay a booking deposit equal to 4 weeks of homestay fees (details below). Please note that the placement fee is non-refundable once the host search begins.
- After receiving payment, a Provisional Confirmation Letter will be issued. Please note that initial homestay placements may be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances, especially if the placement is made more than 4 weeks before the student’s arrival, as host family situations may change.
- All payments related to the homestay, including the placement fee and weekly homestay fees, must be made directly to OZiHOUSE Group. Payments between students and host families are not allowed.
- Payments can be made in person at OZiHOUSE Group or via bank transfer after confirmation with the OZiHOUSE Group Homestay Coordinator.
BOOKING DEPOSIT AND ADDITIONAL PAYMENTS
- A booking deposit equivalent to 4 weeks’ homestay fees is required for bookings of 12 weeks or more.
- After receiving the booking deposit, a Provisional Confirmation Letter will be issued. Please note that initial homestay placements may be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances, especially if the placement is made more than 4 weeks before the student’s arrival, as host family situations may change.
- The deposit will be applied toward the student’s final payment cycle after arrival.
- Students must pay an additional 8 weeks’ homestay fees at least 4 weeks before arrival. This payment, along with the deposit, covers the first 12 weeks of the homestay (4-week deposit + 8 weeks upfront).
- After the initial 12-week period, payments are to be made every 4 weeks in advance.
- Each payment must be made at least 2 weeks before the next payment cycle starts to make sure the homestay continues without interruption.
HOMESTAY BOOKING CHANGE POLICY
- To change your booking, you must notify OZiHOUSE Group in writing at least 2 weeks before your original arrival date.
- If at least 2 weeks’ written notice is provided, a $150 change fee applies, and all remaining fees will be transferred to your new booking.
- If less than 2 weeks’ written notice is provided, you will be charged 2 weeks of homestay fees.
- The $150 change fee will only be waived if your arrival is delayed due to a visa issue or course change. To qualify, you must notify OZiHOUSE Group in writing at least two weeks before your original arrival date. In these cases, you can defer your booking until your visa is approved or your course is rescheduled.
- If less than 2 weeks’ written notice is provided for changes due to a visa delay or course change, you will be charged 2 weeks of homestay fees.
HOMESTAY CANCELLATION POLICY
PRE-ARRIVAL CANCELLATION POLICY
- If a student cancels their placement with more than 4 weeks’ written notice before arrival, all weekly fees will be refunded in full. The placement fee is non-refundable.
- If a student cancels their placement with less than 4 weeks’ written notice before arrival, the initial 4 weeks’ payment and the placement fee will be forfeited. Any additional weekly fees paid will be refunded.
- If a cancellation is made less than 2 weeks before check-in, the initial 8 weeks’ payment and the placement fee will be forfeited. Any additional weekly fees paid will be refunded.
CANCELLATION OF HOMESTAY DUE TO VISA REFUSAL
- If your visa is denied, OZiHOUSE Group will provide a full refund upon receipt of the Visa Refusal Notification, as long as you give at least 2 weeks’ notice before your scheduled arrival. The placement fee is non-refundable.
- If you provide less than 2 weeks’ notice, OZiHOUSE Group will retain the placement fee and 4 weeks of homestay weekly fees. Any remaining funds will be refunded.
- All other changes will follow the same notice periods and penalties outlined in the Pre-Arrival Cancellation Policy.
- Refunds will be processed via bank transfer. It may take up to 3 weeks from the check-out date to receive the refund.
POST- ARRIVAL CANCELLATION POLICY
- If you decide to terminate your contract after your homestay placement has started, you will forfeit your remaining homestay weekly fees. However, a refund (minus an administrative fee equal to 1 week’s homestay fee) may be provided if:
- You find another person, approved by OZiHOUSE Group, to take over the contract.
- You continue to pay homestay fees until the new guest takes over.
- If a student is under 18 and wishes to change or terminate the contract, or take a holiday away from the homestay, they must obtain written permission from their education provider and submit it to OZiHOUSE Group as part of their request.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ROOM SHARING
- If the student asks to share a room, they will only be placed with a student of the same gender.
- If the student is under 18 and sharing a room, they will be placed with someone close in age, unless their education provider and OZiHOUSE Group agree otherwise.
- Normally, only two students will share a room. For short-term study tours, up to four students may share a room if agreed in advance.
HANDLING DAMAGES
- Students must take care of the host’s property and are responsible for paying for repairs or replacements of any damaged items.
- Students are encouraged to have personal liability insurance to cover any damage or accidents involving the host.
- If a disagreement arises, OZiHOUSE Group will mediate and may involve the student’s education agent or education provider to resolve the issue promptly and fairly.
- Students must report any damage they cause to both OZiHOUSE Group and the host within 24 hours and cooperate with OZiHOUSE Group to resolve the matter.
